Dr. Ali's articles from
Aging Healthfully
Magazine:
The
First Path: Spirituality Through Silence
The true answer to stress is spirituality--not psychology.
Majid Ali, M.D. discusses the importance of the spiritual side of medicine.
The Second Path: Spirituality Through
Service
Reaching out to others can be a powerful healing influence
for the sufferer.
The Third Path: Gratitude, Not
Happiness
Says Dr. Ali, "We can know only as much divinity as
exists within ourselves."
The Fourth Path: Control of Metabolic
Roller Coasters
Many people live on metabolic roller coasters, Dr. Ali
describes how to control, sugar-insulin-adrenaline roller coasters.
List of Recommended Cold-Pressed Oils
Dr. Ali presents a list of oils that are beneficial.
Control of
Sugar-Insulin-Adrenaline and Hormone Roller Coasters
Dr. Ali presents some more guidelines for controlling the
roller coasters.
The Fifth Path: Preserving the Integrity
of Body Ecosystems
Human antioxidant and immune defenses are plants, rooted in
the soil of the bowel contents. Why the battered bowel is the root of illness.
The Sixth Path: Rejecting the Diagnostic
Labels
"Every day in my clinical practice I see patients who are
tortured by meaningless diagnostic labels. Their physicians use those labels to justify
the use of symptom-suppressing drugs...."
The Seventh Path: Optimal Hydration
Dr. Ali introduces the subjects of optimal hydration and
supplemental nutrient and herbal support.
Sluggish Blood and Stagnant Lymph
The white and the yellow of an egg harden when it is boiled. Milk
turns sour and forms tiny curdles when a few drops of lemon juice are squeezed into it.
Milk turns into yogurt when a culture of microbes in added to it. Those are three examples
of how proteins solidify.
Allergy
The ABC of Allergy
Allergy is an abnormal immune response...The presence of allergy is
readily recognized when symptoms include running nose, itchy eyes, sinus congestion,
hives, asthma, and eczema...Less recognized forms of food and mold allergies include
problems of digestion and absorption, irritable bowel syndrome, headache, and muscle pain
syndromes...allergy that sets the stage for such serious disorders as Crohn's colitis,
ulcerative colitis, multiple sclerosis, lupus, scleroderma, and vasculitis.
Reduction of Mold Exposure
Reduction of exposure to molds - also called yeasts - is of
central importance in successful management of inhalant allergy.
Asthma
Asthma
Majid Ali,M.D.says that Asthma can be controlled with non
drug, integrative therapies in most people.
Bowel Disorders
Bowel Detox
The bowel ecosystem is always injured in chronic states, and
its restoration is the second core thrust of my management philosophy for chronic
fatiguers the first core thrust being a global strategy for reducing oxidative
stress.
Gastritis - H.pylori
Altered gastric ecology is one of the dominant chronic
disorders of our time. Most though not all chronic fatiguers develop
problems of indigestion and upper abdominal discomfort after variable periods of fatigue.
Clinical
Management of Altered Bowel and Gastric Ecologies
The focus is on long-term, non-drug therapies that are designed and
implemented to restore the normal bowel ecology and reverse the various disease processes
that eventually lead to such bowel diseases as irritable bowel syndrome, spastic colon,
inflammatory bowel disease and others.
Food Incompatibility and
Abnormal Bowel
Response
No discussion of the relationship of food on the human
condition can be complete without some comments about food incompatibility and abnormal
bowel responses to food.
Seed, Feed and
Weed
Seeding is the repopulation of the gut with microflora that have
been destroyed by indiscriminate use of antibiotics or crowded out by the unrestrained
proliferation of yeast and bacterial organisms such as the Proteus and Pseudomonas
species...

Cancer
Breast and Prostate Cancers—Then and
Now
I predicted that in twenty five years one of every four American males will
develop prostate cancer in their life time and one of every six American females
will develop breast cancer. It is my strong visceral sense that the real numbers
are likely to be even worse. This is not an alarmist's delusional plausibility.
It is an inescapable conclusion for a pathologist who has closely examined the
trends in the incidence of the two cancers for nearly half a century.
A SNAPSHOT OF CANCER: From OXYGEN AND CANCER
THE OXYGEN MODEL OF CANCER: From OXYGEN AND
CANCER
The Oxidative Theory of Cancer
Part One
The dogma of drug medicine holds that cancer results from gene mutation,
and assumes that once such mutation occurs, it is irreversible. This viewpoint is
tragically erroneous. Here, I briefly describe my theory that cancer is caused by
oxidative molecular damage.
The Oxidative Theory of Cancer Part
Two
In the early part of the 20th century, Otto Warburg won the Nobel Prize
for his studies that revealed that a cancer cell dislikes oxygen---is an
"oxyphobe." ...His findings provide the molecular basis of bio-oxidative
therapies such as ozone hemotherapy and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
The Oxidative Theory of Cancer Part
Three
Cancer cells....produce prodigious amounts of hydrogen peroxide---one to
two hundred times as much as is produced in non-cancer cells...
The Oxidative Theory of Cancer Part
Four
Each cancer cell has the capacity for "normalizing" its
behavior. What is the evidence for my viewpoint?...
Immune Boosting after
Chemotherapy
Many people live in fear of cancer coming back
after finishing chemotherapy. That is understandable for two reasons: First, what caused
cancer the first time can also strike back....Second, chemotherapy weakens the immune
system and so makes the person more vulnerable.
Saying No To Chemotherapy
Surgery, radiation and chemotherapy were considered scientifically proven,
effective therapies. The physician's word was gospel, and there was no room for doubt.
Decisions about cancer therapies were easy precisely because there was no choice...
Spontaneous Remission of Cancer
In medical terminology, spontaneous remission of cancer refers to exceptional and
unexplained partial or complete disappearance of cancer without medical intervention.
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Is There an Alternative to Antibiotics,
Should There Be One?
The prevailing mode of drug medicine creates
fatigue in two effective ways: First, at the slightest prompting, it feeds little
babies broad-spectrum antibiotics.... Second, it actively withholds from
the sick effective, non-drug nutritional and environmental therapies...
Exercise For Chronic
Fatigue
...In tears, Jackie told me of her struggle to pull herself out of her
debilitating fatigue with heroic efforts to exercise even when it caused severe pain...
Name tag diagnosis for CFS
People who suffer from chronic fatigue
describe their suffering in many ways. Physicians who treat chronic fatigue with drugs use
many names for it. Physicians who have written about chronic fatigue have been a creative
lot.
The Oxidative
Theory of Chronic Fatigue
That is what severe fatigue is. It is lacerated cell membranes. It is violated cell
innards. It is the hemorrhage of magnesium and potassium. It is mitochondrial enzymes
within the cells drowning in a calcium flood.
Hypothesis: Chronic Fatigue and
Accelerated Oxidative Stress
Peer Reviewed Article.
The Mighty Mitochondria
As sources of cellular energy, mitochondria were recognized almost one
hundred years ago. In the past, these cellular organelles were of interest only to the
students of biology. The pandemic of the chronic fatigue syndrome, it seems to me, will
change this.
Read Chapter 1 From The Canary and Chronic
Fatigue
Dr. Ali's introduction into understanding the non-drug reversal philosophy of
Chronic Fatigue
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
For years, most physicians dismissed chronic fatigue
syndrome (CFS) as an all-in-the-head problem. And most victims of CFS suffered the
indignity of being told that they were hypochondriacs, and that they merely imagined their
three main symptoms: 1) disabling fatigue; 2) persistent muscle and joint pain. 3) severe
problems of brain fog, irritability and depression.
18 Food Guidelines
The 18 recommendations that Dr. Majid Ali makes to his
"human canaries" (people who suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome).
Colitis
Colitis
At the Institute we have found the following measures to be useful
for prevention of acute colitis attacks in patients with history of Crohn's' disease,
ulcerative colitis and related chronic bowel conditions...
Colitis: What's in a name
That search led me to a third important discovery: There is such a large overlap in
the clinical symptomatology, microscopic appearances, and suspected causes that there was
hardly any point in slavishly adhering to the system of classification of colitis which I
was being taught as "science."
Fibromyalgia
Positive Results Achieved in 150
Fibromyalgia Patients
The data in this clinical outcome study document the efficacy of
the
ecologic-integrative management protocols used in reversing fibromyalgia (excellent or
good outcome in 84.7%).
Trigger Points
in Fibromyalgia
I do not know of many safe therapies that work as well and for
as many people as injections of ten to 15 drops of 50% glucose solution into trigger
points (TP)
Three Fibro Furies
Dr. Ali calls oxidosis, dysoxygenosis, and acidosis the three
furies of fibromyalgia ("the fibro furies") after the three evil Furies of Greek
mythology. Like the Greek Furies, each fibro fury has a killing mission. Each is
unrelenting in its pursuit...paralyzing all energy, digestive-absorptive, detox, and
neurotransmitter enzymes of the body.
Tired Children, Teenagers in Pain
"A parent can ignore a child's unexplained tiredness
only at peril. To blame a teenager's muscle pain (myalgia) on hormones is often a serious
mistake. For a doctor to dismiss tired children and teenagers in pain simply because lab
tests are negative is a grave error...."
A Snapshot of Fibromyalgia
Fibromyalgia (FM) is often considered a
medical mystery. Dr. Ali gives his explanations
as to What is fibromyalgia?
Simple
Scientific Explanations of the Causes of Fibromyalgia
Majid Ali, M.D. explains
Three
Sets of Causes of Fibromyalgia,
1. Metabolic oxidants;
2. Microbial oxidants; 3.Man-made oxidants (Oxidants are substances that damage
tissues.). Three Molecular Mechanisms of Fibromyalgia 1.Oxidosis (too much oxidation);
2. Dysoxygenosis (too little oxygen); 3. Acidosis (too much acidity) (Oxidosis is
rapid breakdown. Dysoxygenosis [dys-oxy-gen-osis] is abnormal oxygen metabolism.)
The Pyramid of Trios of the Human Body
Ecosystem
Recovery from fibromyalgia requires a healing plan based on
ecologic thinking. Fibromyalgia requires a molecular orientation....
The Gardener
If you are a fibro canary, please recognize that your body is a
divine garden. A good gardener knows the following three things about his garden: First,
he has to work the soil regularly. Second, he cannot banish every fungus (yeast), bug, or
weed from his garden. Third, after he has seeded and tended the soil, he looks up and
hopes for the sunshine and rain to bring out his flowers.
Oxygen and Fibromyalgia
What is fibromyalgia? Fibromyalgia (FM) is often considered a medical mystery. It
need not be. I often hear all laboratory tests are negative in patients with FM. That's
not true. Most physicians are uneasy when confronted with persons suffering with FM. That
need not be so. I sometimes hear FM is not treatable. Nothing is further from the truth.

Heart Disease
Coronary Heart Disease
Drug medicine in the U.S. holds that the basic cause of coronary heart
disease is not known, and assumes that it is an irreversible disease. Both are tragic
errors...
The Seven for the Heart
Coronary heart disease is reversible for most people
with failed bypass operations and angioplasty as well as for those who do not respond to
multiple drug therapies.
The Other Side
of Coronary Heart Disease and Cholesterol
A New Jersey hospital advertisement claims a 98% success rate
for the coronary bypass operations performed there. That is simply a sad and deliberate
deception. The real question is how they define the surgical success rate. The truth
about bypass surgery and coronary stents is shown by the following recent reports of the
New
England Journal of Medicine.
Hormones
The Age of
Estrogenic Overdrive
There are two points that will be focused on in this article:
1. To show how xenoestrogens---chemicals that have estrogen-like
effects---are causing a growing number of eco-dis-eases and ecodiseases, including the
near-epidemic increase in cancer of the breast and prostate.
2. To shed some light on the prevailing controversy concerning the
clinical value of synthetic estrogens for prevention of heart disease and osteoporosis in
women.
Hormones
Hormones are messengers. Our body's cells, tissues, and
organs talk to each other with those messengers. Hormones are essential for growth as well
as for aging with health and grace.
Hormonal Imbalance
I know many women who have fallen victim to estrogenic avalanches unleashed
by synthetic hormones and hormone-like substances (such as pesticides) and these
avalanches of estrogen are causing the epidemics of breast and prostate cancers.
DHEA
DHEA, dehydroepiandrosterone, is a primary adrenal hormone which serves as one of
the body's major anti-aging hormones.

Obesity
From
chapter 2 of The Butterfly and Life Span Nutrition
Where Does Obesity
Begin?
My clinical work and research with patients with immune disorders, chronic fatigue,
chemical sensitivity and obesity have led me to the conclusion that the primary site of
catabolic maladaptation, and the obesity that it causes, is in the mitochondria.
The Mystery of Obesity
If there is any mystery about the cause of obesity, it is locked
up in the workings of two cells: the myocyte and the adipocyte.

All nutritional, ecologic, and stress-related aspects of illness are regularly ignored in
mainstream medicine.
